MotiveWeight Has A New Shop On Redbubble

From February 15th 2022 Motiveweight products can be purchased on Redbubble. (Click the pictures to see the page for each product) or click HERE to go to the shop's home page.

At the time of writing (16th Feb 2022) there are only six products in the shop but I will be uploading new designs and art work on a daily basis, so the shop should have many more products soon.

The quote I'm featuring in this post, "A little progress every day adds up to big results", inspired me to start this shop. In the past it seemed like such a huge task to create a shop with hundreds of products. But the quote reminds me that all big success comes from small efforts repeated over time.

Making small incremental improvements every day is the way many people achieve their goals. Sometimes just committing to doing as little as 5 minutes a day is the ingredient that stops procrastination.

What big goal have you been putting off that could result in success if you committed to doing it for just 5 minutes daily?

Not just your weight loss goals but any goal that could add significant improvements to your life.

One way to optimise your small efforts is to find a way to TRACK YOUR PROGRESS. You can create your own tracker on a piece of paper or do it digitally via a progress tracking app.

I do mine on paper (in my journal). I draw a simple grid to include the activity I'm tracking and the days of the month. Each time I take an action towards my goal, I put an X in the space under that day. It's such a great feeling to see the grid filling up with lots of Xs.

HERE is a link to my Redbubble shop, hopefully by the time you click on it, my small daily small efforts to populate it with products will mean there are lots of products there by the time you visit it.

I've made "PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION" my new mantra.

Motiveweight Has Been Revived and Revamped

Hi everyone, I’m back 😊

I never dreamed I would be away from this blog for so long. It’s been almost three years. WOW!!!
To be honest, as time went by, it looked as though I would never return because I felt done with the whole weight loss motivation thing. I felt I had delivered every weight loss motivational idea I could think of. I also did not want so much of my online life to revolve solely around weight loss. Each new post in the last six months of posting here felt like I was pulling teeth. I knew I needed something else, but at the time I was not really sure what I needed. Sometimes in life you feel that something is missing but you just don’t know exactly what it is. You just know you’re feeling a sort of niggling discontent.

I have discovered the major cause of this discontent was that I was not doing what I really wanted to do with this blog.

I have discovered that my new goal for this blog is to create empowering and inspirational content ON ALL AREAS OF LIFE, not just weight loss because I have learned that it is not just what we eat and how we move our bodies that determines whether we’ll become overweight. There are many lifestyle factors, including stress, low self-esteem, not living our truth, people pleasing, etc, that will make us overeat for comfort. I want this blog to address some of these issues by offering engaging, enjoyable, interesting, easy to implement ideas and strategies that will inspire you to work out the kinks in your life so that you can also work off the extra weight on your body.

We all carry unwanted ‘weight’ in many areas of our lives, whether it’s on our bodies, our romantic relationships, our jobs, our homes, our interactions  with friends and family, our negative thoughts about ourselves, our unwanted habits, etc. So henceforth I will be posting on all these areas in the hope that you, the readers of this blog, will see the revamped MotiveWeight as a valuable and important resource companion on your journey to achieving many of your goals, desires and dreams and not only the weight loss ones.

Quote: Your job is to fill your own cup so it overflows, then you can serve others,
joyfully from your saucer. -Lisa Nichols

Hope you all enjoy the new revamped MotiveWeight and find it useful in many areas of your life.

Sending you lots of love, encouragement and empowerment.

A Thousand Mile Journey Begins With A Single Step

Hi everyone, I'm back! I have not posted anything on here for months, I've been so busy with life's ups and downs that I was forced to put MotiveWeight Blogspot on the back burner for a while. But I am now back in full force, feeling great and raring to go.  I look forward to posting something on here regularly and continuing my journey to healthy weight loss and fitness with you all again. xxx Linda.

You Don't NEED Sugar In Your Tea and Coffee

The act of putting sugar in your tea and coffee is a deeply entrenched habit for many of us. Yet if you practice not adding sugar, you'll find that over time your cravings for it will disappear.

Reward Your Own Behavior Not The Scale's

Use a calendar and gold stars to reward the efforts you are making. It may seem goofy, but it gives you a great snapshot of your efforts, so that next time you miss the gym or start to go back to old eating habits, you are less likely to feel like you failed at everything and give up. -WeightWatchers

Reward yourself when you perform a specific behavior that helps you achieve your ultimate goal—things like staying in your calorie range for the day, sticking to your exercise plan, choosing certain foods instead of others, getting enough sleep, and so on. Maybe you’ve also got some even more specific goals or problem areas you’re trying to work on within each of these areas—like saying no to second helpings, cooking at home instead of heading for the nearest drive-thru, or adding a little more intensity to your exercise session. -SparkPeople

Get Comfortable With Being Uncomfortable

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Hmm…what do I mean by that? Many things. Firstly, doing things that make you uncomfortable yields change. And guess what? The more you experience that discomfort, the more comfortable it will become. But unless you try you’ll never know, will you? You’ll never get to the other side. So until you decide to push yourself harder at the gym; try new foods; confront a family member or a co-worker about something that’s bothering you; learn how to face and manage your anxiety or depression; make conscious efforts to break bad habits…you will stay right where you are in this moment. Are you OK with that? Do you want to settle for good enough? Or continuously feel like you are just hanging on? I hope not. And  I believe it was Einstein who said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.” Albert was a smart cookie. So change. evolve. get uncomfortable. You will be OK. Source

Focus On One or Two Well-Defined Goals

“Most people never really get focused about fitness,” says Mike Robertson, MS, CSCS, co-owner of Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training in Indianapolis. “They switch programs every few days or not at all. They miss workouts for weeks at a time.”

As a result, no matter how earnest our intentions, many of us miss the mark. Not for lack of trying, but because we don’t have a winning blueprint or a strategy. “It’s only when you focus on one or two well-defined goals and follow a clear plan to accomplish them that you start to make real progress,”

Robertson, along with many other leading trainers, is articulating a fitness truth grounded in the basic tenets of business: If you want to accomplish any complex, challenging objective, you have to set clear goals, approach each of your hurdles systematically, routinely assess progress, and course-correct when necessary.
