If It Doesn't Challenge You It Doesn't Change You
If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you – I’ve always been fascinated by how much harder a person works when they have a tough personal trainer pushing them to do their best. With this in mind, whenever I feel myself slacking during my workout and wanting to take the easy route, I pretend Jillian Michaels is my trainer. I literally imagine her shouting at me, telling me to “Work harder!…Do 5 more reps!…Faster, faster!…Keep going!”. This has the effect of instantly making me work harder. Try this little trick yourself (with a trainer of your choice) the next time you need extra motivation to increase the intensity of your workout…it works!

Throw Out The Scale
I must say this quote really had quite an impact on me. I have been thinking of not using the scale for quite some time and the words, "if you don't like what you see in the mirror what difference does it make what the scale says" was the catalyst that will make me stop using the scales (at least for a while). It's true, why does the number matter? We all want to look better, feel better and be healthier...there are far better and more effective ways to measure these things than the scales....I think I'll make the month of May, NO WEIGH MAY!

Do Something TODAY That Your Future Self Will Thank You For
If it were possible to go back in time and give the past you a list of do’s and don’ts that would improve your present life, what advice would you give to your past self?
Now take this list and apply it to your life today and every day so that your future self will have something to thank you for.

Reward Your Own Behavior Not The Scale's
Use a calendar and gold stars to reward the efforts you are making. It may seem goofy, but it gives you a great snapshot of your efforts, so that next time you miss the gym or start to go back to old eating habits, you are less likely to feel like you failed at everything and give up. -WeightWatchers
Reward yourself when you perform a specific behavior that helps you achieve your ultimate goal—things like staying in your calorie range for the day, sticking to your exercise plan, choosing certain foods instead of others, getting enough sleep, and so on. Maybe you’ve also got some even more specific goals or problem areas you’re trying to work on within each of these areas—like saying no to second helpings, cooking at home instead of heading for the nearest drive-thru, or adding a little more intensity to your exercise session. -SparkPeople

Believe You Can Do It
When you believe you can you're half way there. The voice in your head that says you can't do it is a liar.
Get Comfortable With Being Uncomfortable
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Hmm…what do I mean by that? Many things. Firstly, doing things that make you uncomfortable yields change. And guess what? The more you experience that discomfort, the more comfortable it will become. But unless you try you’ll never know, will you? You’ll never get to the other side. So until you decide to push yourself harder at the gym; try new foods; confront a family member or a co-worker about something that’s bothering you; learn how to face and manage your anxiety or depression; make conscious efforts to break bad habits…you will stay right where you are in this moment. Are you OK with that? Do you want to settle for good enough? Or continuously feel like you are just hanging on? I hope not. And I believe it was Einstein who said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.” Albert was a smart cookie. So change. evolve. get uncomfortable. You will be OK. Source
