Lifting Weights Make You Lean Not Bulky
Research has shown that regular resistance training can increase your Basal Metabolic Rate by up to 15%. So for someone burning 2000 calories per day, that's a potential 300 extra calories, burned every single day.
Testosterone is a very important factor in the development of muscle shape, so as women have very low levels of this hormone their muscles develop differently, meaning a little resistance training will not lead to a bulky, butch physique.

Train Hard See Results
The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That’s what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they’ll go through the pain no matter what happens. -Arnold Schwarzenegger
The resistance that you fight physically in the gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

Metabolism Counts
Lifting weights increases your body's metabolic rate and keeps it raised long after the activity is completed. Weight training increases muscle – the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism - the higher your metabolism the quicker you burn calories.

Include Strength Training In Your Workout
One of the major advantages to lifting weights is that the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be, and a high metabolism means your body will burn calories quicker. So instead of only doing cardio to burn calories, consider toning up your body by building some lean muscle using free weights.
Free weights include dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls, sandbells, and kettlebells.
Resistance bands
.Resistance training is any exercise that causes the muscles to contract against an external resistance with the expectation of increases in strength, tone, mass, and/or endurance. The external resistance can be dumbbells, resistance bands, rubber exercise tubing, your own body weight, bricks, bottles of water, or any other object that causes the muscles to contract. Focus On Fitness
Focus on fitness and weight loss will take care of itself.
This has been my experience. When I first began my weight loss journey my focus was entirely on weight loss, but once I lost 30lbs I realised the only way to continue losing weight, without starving myself or being obsessively focused on calories would be to focus on fitness as a lifestyle. This new focus is helping me shed the extra pounds and it will do the same for you.
