Eat Foods With A High Water Content

Water has zero calories so foods with a high water content tend to be very low in calories and therefore are very useful to include in your diet when trying to lose weight:

  • Red tomatoes 94% water
  • Watermelon 92% water
  • Strawberries 92% water
  • Spinach 92% water
  • Broccoli 91% water
  • Carrots 87% water
  • Blueberries 85% water
  • Apples 84% water

Years about (about 20) I became acquainted with a former Miss Argentina through her sister. We worked together for awhile in Europe. Anyway, both these ladies had beautiful complexions. They told me one of their secrets was eating plenty of water foods to stay hydrated and then they explained to me what water foods were. One of the foods they ate plenty of were melons, especially cantalopes.

That's so interesting Marc. Our bodies are made up of 60-70 percent water so it really makes sense that eating foods with a high water content would benefit our entire bodies especially our skin. Today I saw someone describe fruits and vegetables as 'crunchy water'...thought that was a really good name :)
